Urgent Public Consultation of Planning for site at Foxes Corner on Halstead Road
The City Council is carrying out consultation on its Local Plan for the period to 2041. Further details can be found on the APC web site (Click here for the update).
These Plans include the site at Foxes Corner on Halstead Road for 250 homes that is subject to a current planning application that the Parish Council and many residents objected to in the summer. Eight Ash Green Parish Council (EAGPC) has also objected to both the application and allocation in the Local Plan and opposes a further allocation for 130 homes between Bungalow Bakery and the Dental Surgery (formerly Brick&Tile Pub). EAGPC believes that if there has to be development at this scale there are sites along the south side of Halstead Road that are better related to the village and its facilities. They are holding an exhibition / consultation at the Cricketers Pub over the weekend of 10th and 11th January and have invited Aldham residents to attend and make their views known. Aldham PC has resolved to object to the Foxes Corner allocation in the emerging Local Plan and supports EAGPC's campaign to look at alternative sites. Residents are encouraged to attend and to make their own comments to the City Council by the deadline of Thursday 14th January. (Click here for more information and details on how to do this.)
